The record

Does the scoring work?
Watch us find out in public.

Every month, every ranked stock is bucketed into deciles by StockRank and the forward returns are published, bucket by bucket. Vintages form on live rankings before the returns exist, freeze once scored, and publish whichever way they slope. No backtests, no do-overs.

From the founder

“Built by investor, for investor.
Tilt the playing field in your favour.”

MoatMap is how I have invested for over a decade: rank a stock on Quality, Value and Momentum against every peer, then check whether the people running it are buying. Skew your portfolio toward what scores well and is being bought from the inside, and the odds start to tilt your way.

Four tools, one clear answer

From a ticker and a hunch to a decision you can defend.

Type a ticker and know whether it is strong, cheap, or just hype: Quality, Value and Momentum ranked against 25,000+ peers, judged inside its own sector. Then screen the whole market with any filter, save it, and rerun it tomorrow on fresh data.

Go deep when it matters

A 10,000-word AI deep dive on any company: the business, the earnings calls, the management, the moat, the bear case. Then read the same stock through Buffett, Lynch or Druckenmiller's lens before you commit a dollar.

Great picks fail
in bad weather

Pros size their bets to the weather. MoatMap reads VIX, the yield curve, credit spreads, and Fed policy in real time, then hands you one signal. One traffic light replaces an hour of macro reading.

RISK ON · The wind is at your back. Concentrate. Size up. Druckenmiller didn't make his name by spreading thin when he had conviction.
NEUTRAL · The easy money is gone. Tighten your standards. Demand a wider margin of safety. Let the impatient overpay.
RISK OFF · Others panic. You build your watchlist. Buffett's best buys came when everyone else was running for the door.

Questions people ask first

Is MoatMap investment advice?
No. MoatMap ranks stocks on Quality, Value and Momentum and shows you the insider filings behind them. A score is a starting point for your own research, not a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Nothing on the site is tailored to your circumstances.
Where does the data come from?
Prices and fundamentals are refreshed every market day from Yahoo Finance. Insider trades and buybacks are read from the official regulatory disclosures in each of the 35 markets we cover, such as SEC Form 4 filings in the United States, RNS notices in the United Kingdom and TDnet in Japan, and matched to the ranked universe.
How is the StockRank calculated?
StockRank is a 0 to 100 percentile that blends three factor pillars: Quality (return on capital, balance-sheet strength and the Piotroski F-Score), Value (earnings, cash-flow and book multiples plus shareholder yield) and Momentum (price trend and earnings revisions). Each stock is ranked inside its own sector and against the whole universe, every market day. Read the methodology.
Does the ranking actually work?
We publish the answer instead of asserting it. Every month, every ranked stock is bucketed into deciles and the forward returns of each bucket are published on the Decile Tracker, whichever way they slope. Vintages are formed on live rankings before the returns exist and frozen once scored, so there are no backtests and no do-overs.
What is free?
Scoring any ticker, the screener, the insider and buyback feeds, and the Portfolio Tracker are free with an account, and there is no card to start. Deep dives, the 10,000-word AI reports on a single company, are the paid product.
Which markets are covered?
35 markets across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa, all on one price with no regional tiers. The full list sits under the numbers at the top of this page. If you invest in a market we do not cover yet, tell us on the contact page. Requests decide what we add next.
